== XMLs ==
The XML is a physical roster of full-fledged members (Grunt and above). It places the tag [COA-RANK] next to everyone's name in-game when on the XML roster.
All XMLs will be hosted on a separate files. The XML is for full members only. This means Grunt-Officer ranks.

Please submit your XMLs before every Friday if you would like them for the next available session.

;NOTE:
*If you are a company member and do not have your XML completed and visible, you will not be allowed to slot for roles such as Leadership, Combat Medic, and Specialties.

=== Getting on the XML ===
To apply to the XML, post in [http://coalitiongroup.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15 this thread]. Use this template:

<pre>
<member id="ID NUMBER GOES HERE" nick="YOUR NAME">
<name>YOUR NAME AGAIN</name>
<email></email>
<icq></icq>
<remark>YOUR QUOTE GOES HERE</remark>
</member>
</pre>

;What you need:

:*Your ARMA ID can be found in the Profile section at ARMA's main screen. Once your profile is selected click on the UNIT tab. In this tab your "PLAYER ID" is displayed. Copy that and you now have your "member ID."
:*You already have your "nick" (this is your profile name)
:*And this is also where you will paste the link to our SQUAD XML
:*After you have all three of these things, please plug them into the format shown above. See the example for help.
:*ICQ and EMAIL are not required and not actually useful to input

After you have all three of these things, please plug them into this confusing looking format down below. See the example for help.

----
==== An example XML ====
<pre>
<member id="7263345243246" nick="HipHopopotamus">
<name>HipHopopotamus</name>
<email></email>
<icq></icq>
<remark>My lyrics are bottomless.</remark>
</member>
</pre>
Once you have posted in the thread requesting an XML and have done so correctly, your XML will be added to the Squad XML and then will be properly displayed whenever you enter a server in ARMA.

----

==== XML Links ====

Once you've posted in the thread, add this url to your "Squad URL" box in your squad profile in-game.
<pre>
</pre>

Jack: /* Recruits -> Company */

Promotions are done every 2nd and 4th week of every month and generally depend on activity within the community, contributions to the community, and ability to learn and grow as a leader.

==Recruits -> Company==
For recruits, promotion to the company highly depends on activity. If a recruit only shows up to the sessions, they will generally be peer-reviewed out of the group. Vice-versa, recruits who generally play other games with other members of the community and show up to sessions with a will to learn how we play and ultimately become better will garner good peer-reviews. The recruit peer review phase can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on recruit attendance and contribution.

==Company Promotions==
Company promotions, just like recruits, are heavily based on activity and contribution in and out of games. A soldier who is actively creating missions and/or content for the rest of the group to enjoy or taking leadership roles will normally receive promotions at a lightning pace.

==Company -> Headquarters==
Promotions into Headquarters (aka staff) are done on an as-needed basis. If the staff notice a specific role to be filled in order to help streamline the group in any way, they will attempt to fill it with the most capable member of the Company. Keep in mind that, regardless of rank, anyone can be assigned to Headquarters.

The Coalition uses a very basic, but purposeful ranking and grouping structure. Ranks only determine veterancy within the community, but groups determine your ability to take specified roles in ArmA sessions, determine what privileges you receive, and how heavy your opinion is taken on subjects that affect the community.
=== Rank Roles ===

*'''SNCOs:'''
NCOs are the admins of the group and all have a specific job and/or role to maintain to ensure the steady operation of the community as whole. NCOs are volunteers who dedicate countless hours to improving the community. This is where the buck stops.

*'''Company NCOs:'''
NCOs are the senior ranking members of the company. They are players who have been around long enough to know how the community works and have been chosen to help with administration duties if they choose to. As such, NCOs should be of high regard to all company and barracks members.

*'''Specialists:'''
Specialists are members of the community that have distinguished themselves from the rest of company by actively taking leadership roles, taking part in peer review, and contributing to improve every facet of the community. This is the highest rank for company members that don't have any administrative duties.

*'''Veterans:'''
Veterans are company members who have defined themselves through contributions to the group and have been in the community for at least six months.

*'''Soldiers:'''
Soldiers are company members who have been deemed active members of the community both within and out of ArmA. This is the first rank you are promoted to once you show effort to lead in sessions and help to improve the community as a whole.

*'''Grunts:'''
Grunts are the newest company members. They have passed peer-review, been in the group for atleast 1 month, and now have access to everything the company offers.

*'''Recruits:'''
Due to the flaky nature of the ArmA community, all new-joins join the group at this rank. Every draftee goes through a peer-review process to ensure coalition is a good fit for him and he is a good fit for the community. Draftee's are scared, confused, and quiet creatures who you can normally find running into machine gun fire at the most inopportune times.

== Group Structure ==
Coalition also uses a three-group system in order to keep the community organized. Each group serves a purpose both inside and out of the community.
=== Recruits ===
Simply put, the recruit group is the entry group into the community. Every recruit's job is to take part in the community, learn how to be proficient while in-game, and ultimately, play ArmA. Every recruit also undergoes a Peer-Review process by all major members of The Company. Recruits can be peer-reviewed out of the community due to lack of activity, inability to learn how to play ArmA proficiently, and not interacting with the community as a whole. Recruits are limited to AAR, RAT, Driver, and Ammo Bearer roles in order to learn how our structure and chain of command works. Recruits also do not have access to XMLs until becoming apart of the company.

=== Company ===
The company is the backbone of the community. All members of the company are considered full members of Coalition and are granted access to XMLs, Mission Developing and Design, the CMF, and various private discord channels. Company members are also charged with the future of the community through peer-review as well as taking leadership roles during ArmA sessions. All company members are expected to understand and follow the Coalition SOPs both in-game and out.

Specialists are company members with added responsibilities but no added authority. They are dedicated members who are the first line in completing menial tasks. Don't make the mistake of thinking specialists are different - while they do work with the admins, they primarily work with the company to make sure their needs are met. If you have any problems with the group overall, you should talk to a specialist first.

=== Headquarters ===
The brain of the community and ArmA sessions. Each headquarters member has a specific role they play in the administration and/or technical side of the group. All headquarters members, regardless of rank, are considered staff members.
